A Student-Centered Approach to Coaching Cycles
The role of the Teaching & Learning coach was first introduced at Graded in 2014. Since then, many members of our current and previous staff have had the chance to participate in a coaching cycle. For those who have not yet had the chance, they may be wondering what exactly is involved. Our current coaches, myself and Silvana Meneghini, recently gave a summary of our student-centered approach, based on the work of Diane Sweeney. To learn more, check out the video below.
This year, as part of the English Language Arts renewal process, our coaching cycles will involve a few adjustments, as we anchor our cycles in piloting newly developed units and inviting other members of departments and grade levels to participate as observers and thinkers.
